The boat can be equipped with a tiller handle engine. The ignition is controlled by a manual starter handle, button or start switch, depending on the engine model.
- If the engine is equipped with an electric starter, switch on the power using the main power switch.
- Lower the engine into the driving position by pressing the power tilt button on the engine.
If the power tilt button is not available, lower the engine manually.
- Check that the gear is in the neutral position and that the emergency cut-off switch is attached to the tiller handle.
- Turn the throttle grip to the START position.
- If the engine is equipped with a start switch, turn it to the ON position.
- Start the engine by choosing the action that corresponds to your engine model.
- Pull the manual starter handle slowly until you feel resistance. Then give a strong, straight pull to start the engine. Repeat if necessary.
- Turn and hold the starts switch in the START position until the engine starts.
- Press and hold the starter button on the engine until the engine starts.
- Return the throttle to the fully closed position by turning the grip.
- Let the engine idle for a few minutes before setting off.
An engine with an electric starter should start within 1-2 seconds from turning or pressing the start switch/button. Do not try to start the engine for more than 10 seconds at a time.
